A'marion Adams loved basketball, computers, carnivals, jumpers and especially all of his family. On June 13, 2010, A'marion, only six years old, was shot in the back of the head. He was declared brain dead three days later. The Adams family decided to donate his organs so that someone else's life could go on. A'marion's mom reflected on the "...One More Day" float theme: "If I had just one more day with A'marion, I would place a king's crown upon his head, take him to a special carnival and watch his beautiful smile the whole day as he eats plenty of cotton candy and popcorn and ride, ride, ride."

A'marion's Story

Since his birth on December 16, 2003, A'marion Adams was an amazing child. He was born with fiery red hair, which was unbelievable to everyone. He started walking at 10 months old, and at an early age he loved writing on walls. As he grew, A'marion loved basketball, computers, carnivals, jumpers and especially all of his family.

On June 13, 2010, A'marion was shot in the back of the head and put on ventilator support; he was declared brain dead three days later. A'marion was only six years old. The Adams family decided to donate his organs so that someone else's life could go on. Perfect matches were found for his heart, liver and both kidneys, so in a way, A'marion's life lives on.

One year after his donation, A'marion's parents were able to meet one of the kidney recipients, and have since been in close contact with the recipient and family.

In 2010, a tree was planted in memory of A'marion at Anne Shirell Park near the city of San Bernardino. Glenn Abercrombie of Mountain View Mortuary of San Bernardino donated a memorial plaque which will be dedicated at a later date and placed by the tree at the park.

Reflecting on the float's "...One More Day" theme, A'marion's mother said, "If I had just one more day with A'marion, I would place a king's crown upon his head. I would take him to a special carnival and watch his beautiful smile the whole day as he eats plenty of cotton candy and popcorn and ride, ride, ride. Then we would end the day with all our family as this was what he would have wanted and loved. If I only had known, I would have given him hugs and kisses and held his hand the whole day long. A'marion, I love you so much. I miss you forever more."
