Andy Colligan grew up in New Hampshire, where he excelled in many sports. After graduating from Colby College, where he played hockey and was a two-time co-captain of the lacrosse team, he had a Wall Street internship, earned an MBA from Boston College, and ran the Boston Marathon and several triathlons and races.
Andy became a coach for Charlestown Youth Hockey. After a New Year’s Eve party on January 1, 2002, Andy coached a 7 a.m. Christmas Tournament Championship game. As the second period started, Andy, 30, suffered a brain aneurysm and died shortly after. He donated his organs and tissue.
Andy’s athleticism has carried on. On September 27, 2008, Andy’s heart recipient, Pete Kenyon, swam in a triathlon along with Andy’s father, a cyclist, and runner George Senerchia, a heart recipient.
Siblings Julie, Nancy and Maura will decorate Andy's floragraph, and, with Ted and parents Sheila and Tom, continue to honor his memory and spirit as a beloved son, brother and friend by supporting the Donate Life mission, donors and recipients, and their families. |
