Nicholas Ermak was a bright, athletic student at UC Santa Cruz. A major in Asian history, Nich was only 22 when he died in a rock climbing accident. Although he had never discussed organ donation with is parents, they felt sure that he would want to help as many other people as possible. They have since met the recipients of Nich’s lung and kidney and appreciate that many more lives were saved and healed as a result of his donation.
