Dan Gromada, Jr. had his motorcycle for less than two weeks when he crashed on June 25, 2004 at the age of 19. When his parents were approached about the opportunity of organ and tissue donation, they learned that Dan Jr. had joined the Ohio Donor Registry when he received his driver’s license three years earlier. “We were so impressed,” said Dan Sr. “How many 16-year-olds think about helping others if something happens to them?” Dan Jr. saved four lives as an organ donor. All the recipients are alive and doing well, a fact that brings joy to his family. |
