On November 23, 2002, 24-year old Jessica Kupczak suffered a severe asthma attack that claimed her life. She had been working as an administrative assistant at a convalescent home and was considering studying nursing and social work. When she applied for her driver’s license several years earlier, Jessica had signed up to be an organ donor. In death, as in life, Jessica gave of herself to others− in this case, to four strangers who received her organs. |
