Eighteen-year-old Jacob Curran Smith had completed his essay application for nursing school just days before his death in a car accident on February 19, 2007. He had planned on working at St. Jude Hospital and then traveling the world helping those in need. Jacob had always wanted to be an organ donor. “Jacob was a very compassionate man who truly loved people,” says his mother Cindy. “The Mid-South Transplant Foundation has been such an important part in helping my family heal. I thank God every day for these wonderful people who help families like mine give the gift of life.” |
