Twenty-year-old Hollie Stanyon-Fouts was studying to be a pediatric nurse because she “wanted to save lives.” On January 16, 2005, just 19 months after her sister Kirsty was killed instantly in a car crash, Hollie was in a collision while driving to college. She sustained brain injuries and would not survive.
Through her organ donation, Hollie was able to save the lives of six people and heal many others. One of her organ recipients was a four-month old baby girl who is now alive because she received a portion of Hollie’s liver. Hollie’s parents, Jayne and Peter Stanyon, established the Heart-to-Heart Foundation in their daughters' memory to bring awareness to children and adults of the need for organ and tissue donation. |
