Timothy Susco put the maximum effort into everything he did. It was this effort and thirst for success that brought him to pursue a variety of interests throughout his life, such as playing baseball, running cross country and track, serving as an altar boy, playing guitar, refereeing youth sports, and obtaining the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest achievement possible in scouting.
Tim graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia where he first discovered his love of film and television and realized that he wanted to pursue the field as a career. He worked on various projects in Philadelphia, including the movie “National Treasure.” In 2004, he moved to Los Angeles to begin his career in film.
In October 2006, Tim finally got his big break and landed a job on the TV show “Heroes,” a dramatic series that depicts individuals with superhuman abilities. He became a key assistant location manager and on August 15, 2007, while scouting locations for episode six of season two, 25-year-old Tim suffered a fatal brain aneurysm. That episode – his last – was dedicated to his memory.
“Tim did not have x-ray vision, or the ability to fly or travel through time, but Tim was more of a hero than any of the characters in the show he worked on,” said his mother, Nancy Susco. “His superhuman abilities included kindness, patience, his ability to make others smile, his hardworking spirit and the ability to leave such a huge impact with so many people in so little time.
“Tim was able to donate multiple organs, tissues and corneas upon his death, and we are grateful for the help OneLegacy gave us during that process. Through his donation, Tim has affected many lives, and we were fortunate to meet his heart and lung recipients. This experience was truly overwhelming and has encouraged us to work to promote organ donation in the Washington, DC, area.” |
