PEDRO’S STORY
Pedro Crespo. What immediate thoughts come to mind? Pedro's charismatic charm, his spectacular smile and that ever-so-contagious laugh! A son, brother, nephew, cousin, uncle, friend, husband, and father; Pedro immediately filled a room with his presence. Pedro made friends with individuals from all walks of life, moving from his childhood home in Elizabeth, NJ to Matawan, Linden and most recently Warren, NJ. No matter where he was, he did not judge a book by its cover nor ever turn away anyone in need. His willingness to be there for anyone, anywhere, at any time was one of his strongest attributes and one of the reasons he was so loved. No matter how many times someone asked for help, he would be there for them saying, "People that are looking for help shouldn't be turned away, making life changes is difficult and if I can assist, I will, as long as I can." Pedro's generosity didn't solely align with those he knew, he would stop and help strangers change a tire; or donate to a stranger's Go Fund Me page, because "that could happen to us, too." He had a huge heart, but also a passionate drive for success. It was important to Pedro that his sons were proud of him. A self-starter, he navigated the regulations, processes and procedures needed to become an Owner/Operator of PSAJ Trucking as well as a renovation business, Grand Renovations, LLC. Pedro worked hard and played hard, and enjoyed fishing, boating and basketball. He was a solid pool player and a diehard fan of the Yankees and NY Giants. His family did not know he signed up as an organ and tissue donor, but they were not surprised. He left behind a significant void in so many lives and yet, through his passing, blessed lives. His wife, Sandra, influenced by his last, selfless act, registered to be an organ donor herself, convinced that we all can change lives by becoming a donor. She writes "at the end, we're all navigating through this journey called ‘life'; may you be so lucky to have a ‘Pedro Crespo' influence your journey."
