She had brains, beauty, and resilience. No matter what life threw at her, she always found a way to persevere. Loved by many, the memories of Athena are forever ingrained in her loved ones' hearts and minds. On November 7, 2020, Athena overdosed at a party after unknowingly taking fentanyl, and the world lost a little bit of her sunshine. However, those who love Athena know she's alive in others, and her legacy continues. Through donation, Athena saved four people and healed many others. Despite not having a Pink Dot on his driver's license, Charles would have been proud to know that his donated corneas changed the life of a 20-year-old young man. His family, who knew him as a generous man, was surprised to learn the extent of his charitable deeds after his passing at the age of 56. His countless acts of kindness had a profound impact. Charles's passion for his home teams, the Dodgers and Chargers, was unwavering. He was especially dedicated when they were the underdogs. Even when friends teased him about his team's performance, he would respond with a confident smile, "next year." His dedication and loyalty were truly inspiring. In his humble style and with his infectious smile, Charles would likely have wondered why he was chosen to be honored on the 2025 OneLegacy Donate Life Rose Parade float. He might have even said, "I never did anything special." But his family and friends would overwhelmingly disagree.

Yasushi "Yash" Iseda was born and raised in California. The youngest of eight children, he and his family were sent to an internment camp in Arizona during World War II. Yash did not allow this event to define him. If anything, he let it motivate him to work hard and provide a great life for his two children. An accomplished football player in high school, Yash received a football scholarship to attend Cal State Long Beach. After graduating, he had a successful 34-year teaching career at Garden Grove School District. Yash was a man with a wealth of passions. His interests ranged from sailing and crafting stained glass windows to wood carving, swimming daily, fly fishing, and gardening. For two decades, he was a member of the Long Beach Casting Club, even taking on the role of president. The Iseda family is confident that Yash would be proud to have his memory honored as a floragraph on the OneLegacy Donate Life float.
