HAYDEN’S STORY
Hayden tragically passed away as a result of an accident involving an unsecured soccer goal. He will always be remembered by family and friends as a joyful, friendly, caring, and charismatic individual. He had a smile that was infectious and a ‘never give up' attitude that inspired him and others to pursue their goals. He had a deep appreciation for God, family, friends, and sports. In his 10 years of life, he left a lasting impact on all of those that knew and loved him.
Hayden was the first one up in the neighborhood, knocking on doors looking for a playmate. He made sure to visit the pastor's home to join his family for church services. Hayden had a kind heart, one that most recognized immediately. One look at those big brown eyes, and everyone was hooked! The stories after his death, showed a young ‘modern day Tom Sawyer' as one called him, with a zest for life.
That enthusiasm for life is what prompted Hayden to embrace each moment fully. Whether it was on the playground at school, the soccer field or in the neighborhood. He possessed an energy that persisted until he finally rested his head on his pillow at night. Hayden valued friendships, and his friends came in various shapes and sizes, as he appreciated the person within and aimed to be the smile that brightened their day.
Despite his young age, he had expressed a desire to be an organ donor. Prior to his death he had a meaningful conversation with his mother regarding a family member that was unable to conceive. The discussion turned to the topic of organ donation. Without hesitation, he expressed his intent to become an organ donor. He was able to donate his corneas and tissue.
Hayden truly believed he would be a famous soccer player. He found complete joy on the field. In honor of Hayden's memory, his family began promoting soccer goal safety.
