DAVID’S STORY

David, also known as Davey, Dave, Bubba and Compton throughout his many circles of friends and family, believed that finding your passion is finding the one thing that makes you smile in the morning. David had a diverse group of passions, which included writing, cars, motorcycles, and his career. David's passion for those things was clearly evident by the numerous friends and family David surrounded himself with. He was only 25 years old when he passed, but that did not stop him from achieving some his hopes and dreams.

David worked for Tesoro, one of the largest oil refineries on the West Coast. He got the job in January 2014, four months before he passed, and was one of only twenty people selected for this position. There were over eighteen hundred people who applied for the open jobs! David was most passionate about anything with wheels and a motor. In his time here on earth, he built a Toyota Supra, showcasing it at car shows all over Southern California. In his free time, he raced around the winding canyons of Southern California on one of his two motorcycles, which he proudly owned.

David was extremely passionate about always doing the right thing. To him, organ donation was the right thing to do. There was no hesitation in his choice to become an organ donor and thus, no hesitation in his family's decision to allow his life to provide life to others. His loved ones can confidently say that David's only hope would be that any recipient of the gift of life would go out and find that one thing that makes them smile in the morning…their passion. As the 10-year anniversary of his death just passed, there is no doubt in their minds about the legacy Davey left behind through his life and his donation.
