TYLER’S STORY

Tyler J Rodimer, forever 23, was a fun-loving kid who played roller hockey, was a snowboarder and loved to bow hunt. Tyler was an avid outdoorsman whose greatest passion was fly fishing. His grandfather taught him about the art of fly fishing and it turned into an obsession. He learned how to tie his own flies and taught his buddies so they could all go to the stream to fly fish together. He loved spending time with his friends and his family. One of Tyler's quotes was, "you can find me on the river or in the woods" Tyler had a wonderful dry sense of humor and a great personality. He joined the Boy Scouts and proudly achieved the highest rank of Eagle Scout, in 2014. In 2018 Tyler graduated with honors from East Stroudsburg University with a degree in Criminal Justice. He was finding his way to a career outdoors doing what he loved.

In early 2019, Tyler had an accident, resulting in a Traumatic Brain Injury. Tyler had originally signed up as an organ donor as a teen. After two months, multiple surgeries, and agonizing consultations with doctors, clergy, and family, it was decided that Tyler would be taken off life support. With guidance from the many doctors and the staff at New Jersey Sharing Network, Tyler was able to save three lives with his liver and kidneys, improve 16 lives with his tissue and help two people with his heart valves. Giving of himself to save a life or make someone's life better was his final act of grace and kindness. Tyler lives on in the lives he touched.

His family and friends continue to spread awareness about the importance of being an organ donor. "Tyler's Tight Lines" team continues to support the NJ Sharing Network's annual 5K, coming together to honor his memory. Tyler left a legacy to honor and treasure every day as he is now part of three other families' salvation stories.

Tyler's infectious smiles and big bear hugs will be missed forever but his spirit and memory will never die!
