WENDY’S STORY

Wendy, a tissue transplant recipient, is attending the Donate Life Rose Parade with her husband, Thomas Dougall, a living donor. Wendy suffered through many painful dental treatments that soon required transplant tissue grafts to achieve healing. Because her donor said “Yes” to tissue donation, her dental treatments brought healing and thankfulness. Wendy shares her transplant story with gratitude for the many miracles donation brings about in our communities and her family’s unique connection to donation.

“I am excited and honored to participate in the Donate Life Rose Parade. I received a wonderful healing and got my smile back. Then years later, after my dental tissue transplant, it came full circle in my life with my husband becoming a living donor.” Wendy is grateful for the work of Donate Life South Carolina and the many projects of educating communities about organ, eye and tissue donation for transplantation. Wendy is very active in her church and her community. The proud mother of two great young adults, she loves to play tennis, travel, and spend time outdoors. She is excitedly looking forward to her daughter’s wedding in January.
