Yohan was a kid who always was there with a helping hand. He loved to play football and basketball and enjoyed watching sports. He loved Monrovia High School, his friends and especially his teammates. Yohan’s family agreed that when tragedy hit, organ donation is something Yohan would want. Yohan’s left kidney was transplanted into a 54-year-old woman in California. A 55-year-old man in California received Yohan’s right kidney. Yohan’s lungs were transplanted into a 58-year-old woman in Arizona. A 51-year-old California man received Yohan’s heart. Yohan’s liver was transplanted into a 53-year-old man also from California. Many will miss Yohan’s big smile, big bear hugs and his eyes.

Yohan’s Story

Yohan is best described as a very kind, fun loving, friendly, loyal, smart, kindhearted young man, who loved sports and animals. He loved and respected his family and friends. Yohan brought a smile to everyone that he met. Yohan had a great sense of humor and always had a helping hand. He loved to play football and basketball and enjoyed watching sports. He Loved Monrovia High School, his friends and especially his teammates. Yohan is an inspiration to us to live and enjoy life, respect one another, be there for one another and mostly love unconditionally and to have a big warm loving friendly smile. Yohan was only fifteen and half years when we had to say goodbye to him forever. Yohan was born and raised in Monrovia California and attended Wild Rose Elementary, Santa Fe Middle School and Monrovia High School.

Yohan was a kid who always was there with a helping hand, so when that tragedy hit our lives and we as a family were asked about organ donation we agreed that this will be something Yohan would want. Yohan’s organ donation was received by many recipients. Yohan’s left kidney was transplanted into a 54-year-old woman in California. A 55-year-old man in California received Yohan’s right kidney. Yohan’s lungs were transplanted into a 58-year-old woman in Arizona. A 51-year-old California man received Yohan’s heart. Yohan’s liver was transplanted into a 53-year-old man also from California. Yohan also donated bone tissue and skin tissue and his corneas.

The most I will miss about Yohan is his big smile and big bear hugs and his eyes. As a father I miss everything about my baby boy, may God hold him in his arms, protect him and keep him safe.
